Kicking off the new year with fresh tunes, Margaret River-based band Brightsider follow up their anthem single ‘Erase’, released in January, with a funky new party track, ‘Crystal Ball’, released this week.

Singer Dan White – also director of the West Australian Guitar Festival – said he was relishing the opportunity to return to songwriting.

“It feels good to produce more music and to have some shows again after the festival has taken a lot of my focus,” he said.

“And I’m really excited to play a gig in my hometown with the band after nearly a year since last and lots of new material to share.”

A lighthearted look at healthier and better love relationships, the new track mixes synths, neo-soul-inspired harmonic moves, heavily stacked vocals and energetic percussion to produce a sound reminiscent of the golden age of Jamiroquai, and more to come from the group.

Brightsider will kick off “Crystal Ball” with two shows this weekend, first stopping at The River on Saturday, March 26 with special guests Kiki & Co and Matt McIntyre. Tickets available via theriverhotel.com.au

The band will also be at Clancy’s Fish Pub Dunsborough on Sunday March 27th again with support from Kiki & Co, from 5pm (free entry).
